Happy Brithday Jesus!

With all of the fun of Santa surrounding the holiday season, we have always felt it vital for our kids to understand why we celebrate Christmas and what the day is really for and about.  They both know it is a celebration of our Saviors birth and LOVE going to celebrate at the Birthday Party for Jesus at church!  Curt and I were not able to be there this year because of being invited to the game, but Laurie took great pictures of the kids and I hope to get more from my parents!  I am so proud that the kids know all about the story of the birth of Jesus!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS!

Our favorite Santa helper!  The kids know Bro. Al has been chosen by Santa to be a helper in Texas!  They love Bro. Al and have such a special relationship with him!

Santa sent both kids a video from the North Pole!  They both were on the Nice list and were so excited to find that out!  Colson couldn't believe that Santa mentioned throwing silly tantrums in his video...Santa really is watching!  Brooklyn couldn't believe that Santa knew about her trip to Memphis this summer!  They were so excited!  When Brooklyn watched, she cried happy tears because she couldn't believe it!

Dear Santa...

Santa lists were very fun this year!  Brooklyn is really taking off with her writing and wrote hers all by herself!  The only word that I helped her with was DEAR instead of DEER.  I was very proud of her conversation in her writing and thought it was so creative that she drew a picture of her with a thought bubble with her list in it!  Very cute!
Colson was hilarious!  He didn't really get that we were writing a letter and not just listing what he wanted like he had done to Santa when he sat on his lap!  He wrote about crazy stuff and then complimented himself on how funny he is!  Too cute!  He was very proud of himself...spaghetti face and all!!!

My Little Elf

Santa has his little elves that help him get his job done right?!  Well, I have my little elf too!  Brooklyn is totally into wrapping, writing the gift tags, and organizing all of the gifts under the tree by size so that all of the tags can be seen!  Too funny...what is really funny is I remember doing the same thing when I was younger!

Tooth Fairy Visits!

On the afternoon of November 28th, Brooklyn came home and her bottom right tooth was barely hanging on to her gums!  She was very hesitant to have it pulled but went in for daddy to do the "tooth magic!"  He wiggled, and popped it right out!  Brooklyn was so surprised because it didn't even hurt!  Her permanent tooth is already half way in and the other one next to it is not too far behind!  Brooklyn ran to get her tooth fairy pillow and put it in safely before bed time!  When she woke up in the morning, she sadly grumbled, "I couldn't do it."  I asked her what she was talking about and she responded, "I tried to stay awake...I have got to see this tooth fairy!"  The tooth fairy brought her $5 for her first tooth that she lost!  She put it right in her piggy bank!  I cannot believe we are entering in to the snaggle tooth stage of her life!  Time flies!

Texans, Texans, RAH RAH RAH!

Curt and I were invited to my very first professional football game!  Our friends, the Salazars, have season tickets and go to every home game!  They had invited us to 2 games previously and we have been out of town, so I was thrilled that we were able to go!  I loved tailgating before the game and then watching the entire game surrounded by friends!  Julie is not a football fan, but she suffered through it for me!  Thank you Julie!!!  It was so amazing seeing it all in person and I have a different perspective on things now that I have seen it in person!  It was a "nail-biter" of a game and many season ticket holders said it was the best game they had ever seen!  It was a WONDERFUL experience and cannot wait to go to another one again!  Thank you for the invite!

The Santa Stop #1

One of my friends from my old school, Brenda, invited us to her new school for cookies with Santa!  It was a great time to see the school, her new classroom, and of course sit in the lap of Jolly Old St. Nick!  The kids waited very patiently in line and he was a wonderful man!  He spent so much time asking what they want for Christmas...the kids were thrilled!  They then got to make reindeer food and a hot cocoa mix!  Makes for a perfect day!  Thank you for the invitation Brenda!
Colson told Santa he would like: A chore chart, house shoes, rainboots, a raincoat, a leapster and a coffee maker!
Brooklyn would like: rainboots, a raincoat, easy bake oven, and a vegetable garden!
