Rodeo 2011
In Houston, the Livestock Show and Rodeo is a huge city event that lasts for several weeks. People live for rodeo time complete with country music, bull riding, Kid's Country, carnival rides, and tons of "rodeo" food. Everything fried you can imagine. We took my parents again this year and had a great time. Colson was so much easier this year! He could ride a ton of the rides, loved the animals, and showed his fearlessness! Brooklyn's favorite part was riding the roller coaster and she was finally brave and went into the petting zoo. We went to a restaurant around there called Chachos that was really good! The kids were exhausted but of course never fell asleep in the car. Our kids NEVER sleep in the car!
Great day!!!
Great day!!!
Spring Break 2011
The first day of official spring break we had a day with friends! We went to Bouncin' Bears with Cody and Chase Madden and Marshall Pierrel! We had a great time...if you haven't been there, it is a great place to take little ones. We went to have lunch with Marshall and Laurie and off to get Brooklyn's hair cut! She LOVES to get her hair cut and mostly loves Ms. Celinda who cuts it! We came home and the kids took a rest time on the couch and that went very smoothly! It was too late for a nap but they rested well. Time to play with each other and just have fun!
Also, Colson got his first black eye from another little boy in his class. They collided on the playground and Colson got the worst of it. The school nurse called to tell me about it and let me know that she checked it out and all was ok. It looked like a boy accident to me!!!!!

AWANA
I don't know if my blog friends have ever heard of AWANA, but if you haven't...it is the best Christian program for kids! I went all the way through high school in the AWANA program and can't wait for Brooklyn and Colson to keep up the hard work in it. It is a ministry all about children hiding God's Word in their hearts. Brooklyn memorizes one scripture a week for now and will be doing more next year. Colson goes and learns all about how much God loves him and all that God has created! Here is my caring Cubbie and playful Puggle!
Family Trip Feb 2011
The last weekend of February we had a blast as a family! We drove (in our new minivan...yes, you heard me say it....minivan) up to Mineola, TX. It is a small East Texas town that my college friend JaNan and her husband Steve live in. It was a reunion of all of our families! The Straznicky's were nice enough to have us all stay at their beautiful new home that they just moved in to on their 46 acres that they own. It was so fun! The Pierrel family came up on Saturday and the Luley family came down from Virginia to visit family and made us one of their stops on their trip! It was so fun to have all of the kids together! My two are the oldest but Colson, Kingston, Tatum, and Marshall are all within 10 months of each other and enjoyed each other so much! Brooklyn is the oldest and Stella is the baby of the crew...for now! Laurie will be having Madeline in a few weeks and Meagan will be having Hallie in a few months! We spent time visiting, taking care of kids, playing in the dirt, riding the tractors, going in to town for a girls only lunch, watching a fire burn, and just letting the kids run around and have fun! Here's to many more friend reunions in the future!!!!
