The Lewis Family Christmas

On Christmas morning, we all met at my mom and dad's house!  The kids were excited to see Uncle Frank "Marshmallow", Aunt Susan, Malorie, Neil, and Madison because they had not seen them yet since they came into town!  We got there after playing at home for a little while and had our traditional Christmas breakfast complete with Curried Fruit, Sausage Casserole, and a variety of muffins!  YUM!  We then spent a long time going one by one opening presents.  We love to go one at a time in order to see the joy in everyone's faces!  We spent the rest of the day getting Christmas dinner prepared (thank you Mimi), playing with toys and games, watching new DVDs, and playing our traditional family games late into the night!  Memaw and Pop came to join the Lewis clan for dinner and we loved having them join us!  We love our time with our family from Memphis and Jackson and feel so blessed to have them there every year for Christmas!
Brooklyn pulling her own make up out of her stocking from Mimi and Poppi!

Blast from the past!  We both played with Mouse Trap when we were little and now our kids will!

Colson loved his laser gun!

Who says we can't have Jelly Bellys at 10 in the morning?!

They went exploring with their new luggage and binoculars!

Another blast from the past...ALPHIE!

Christmas Eve and Morning at Our House

We got home from the Alford home pretty late but still had plenty of time to get Santa set up for the night.  The kids excitedly put on their Christmas jammas and ran to the kitchen.  We set up cookies and milk for Santa and oatmeal for the reindeer.  When Brooklyn was 2 she decided that we needed to give oatmeal to the reindeer.  Even though she doesn't like it, she says they will!  We also set up right next to it the picture of a nativity scene that Brooklyn drew herself.  She wanted to show Santa that it was Jesus' Birthday!  She got stayed awake so late because she was worried that we weren't going to go to sleep so Santa could come!  Colson was just snoozing away!
Ready to lay out the cookies!

Colson was in charge of the oatmeal for the reindeer

They wanted to sit and wait on him!

Santa came!
The one morning we wanted the kids to wake up early, they didn't!!!  We were supposed to make it to Mimi and Poppi's house at 8 and the kids didn't even wake up until 7:30!  Well, we had to wake Colson up!  Brooklyn was so thrilled with her Panda Pillowpet and Marmaduke movie and Colson took a little while to warm up!  I think his favorite gift was his bucket of dinosaurs!  He loves to pretend play with them and always asks for them!  His hippity hoppity ball and her inflatable hamster wheel have already given tons of laughs!!!  Brooklyn's response was, "Thank you Santa!"

The kids must have been good this year!

Taking a bit to wake up!

All smiles!  So excited!

She went for her stocking first!

They were so excited to open everything!

Such a fun gift!

Has caused several fights but many laughs!

Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!!
Off the the Lewis home for Christmas there!!!

Alford Family Christmas

This year was a bit different...we spent Christmas Eve with the Alford family and Christmas Day with the Lewis family.  This was so nice because it kept us from dragging the kids a zillion places on the same day!  We got to spend ample time at both houses and enjoy family and make memories.  On Christmas Eve, we all gathered at Memaw and Pop's house and had a fabulous meal, took time to admire Memaw and Pop's snow village, and then opened presents.  We changed the kids into Christmas jamas (which didn't last long on Colson) which was a fun tradition to start before we sat down to open gifts.  I was very pleased and proud of the kids!  They were so excited to open presents but waited their turn each time and said, "Thank You" for each present!  Brooklyn was chosen to go on the fun annual treasure hunt for one of her gifts from Uncle Philip, Aunt Crystal, and Isa!  She had several clues leading her to rooms in the house and finally led her to find her very first pets...TWO HERMIT CRABS!  She is IN LOVE with them and takes care of the daily.  She has named them Hermie and Shermie which I thought was very creative!  Colson is IN LOVE with his big boy Bible and wants it to sit on the side table next to him every night!  It is so cute!  It was so fun to have my great nephew's first Christmas!  Colson and Edward played with some of his toys together and it was just fun to have a baby around again!!

So excited for our first family Christmas this year!

The kids LOVE all of Memaw's singing and dancing decorations!

He is my favorite little man too!

They love the huge yard to play in at Memaw and Pop's!

Brooklyn was so proud of the flowers that she picked!

The four grandchildren and one great grandchild of the family!

Brooklyn was so thrilled!  She asked all day to go to Memaw and Pop's!

She saw this Cupcake maker the day before in the store and wanted it so badly!  She was thrilled to get it from Memaw and Pop!

Brooklyn's new girls Bible

Clue 1 on the treasure hunt!

She was pretty good at figuring out most of the clues!

Colson showing Edward how to play with his new toy!

Colson wanted his Bible opened immediately...so cute!

Thank you for a great time Alfords!  The kids had a blast and were thrilled to be with y'all!  Memaw ended the night with reading Twas the Night Before Christmas and a Bible story and we went home!

Camera

Well, our camera has been in the shop for about 3 months and it is still not fixed...bad news.  Good news...we went ahead and just bought a new one.  After dealing with the people at Photo Source for 3 months we requested our money back and are waiting for our old camera to come back also.  We bought a Nikon D3100 and are loving it!  It is so nice and I truly don't think we will ever be able to comprehend all of the capabilities!  Here are a few of the pics we have taken so far!

Grandma (the kids' great grandma) is in town!

Granny (the kids' other great grandma) is also here!

It does outline photos!  Amazing!

Kids in Christmas Jamas

I think there is nothing cuter than kids in their Christmas jamas!  I thought these were hilarious with Colson trying to pose like Brooklyn!
Guess he is praying for me to stop taking pictures!

He is trying to pose like Brooklyn...lol
