Christmas 2013

Our Christmas started on the morning of Christmas Eve.  We decided this was the time we would open our presents to and from each other in our house.  We celebrate Christmas Eve evening with the Alfords and Christmas with the Lewis and Bridger clan.  The kids were thrilled to get their gifts from us...Brooklyn LOVED her Dolphin Cruiser for Lego Friends and Colson LOVED his roller blades.  I think they were both huge fans of the roller blades because that is what they did through the house all morning!  Curt loved his Keurig Vue and carousel and I loved my T25, weights, pedicure gift card, and lifting gloves!

Christmas Eve was a blast with the Alford family.  The kids played with Edward wonderfully the whole time and it was amazing how well the kids waited their turn each time!  We catered dinner as we did last year and it was the way to go!  I love that we do this in this family.  It is easy and then we can focus on enjoying our time together.  The scavenger hunt this year went to Edward and Pop...Pop got a greenhouse and Edward got a bouncy ball horsey.  Brooklyn received a very special gift from Memaw which was a blanket that they are going to learn to sew together.  Brooklyn has been wanting to learn how to sew and Memaw is going to teach her!  SO special!

While on our way home, Colson was so nervous about getting home in time for Santa to come to our house.  He was scared that Santa would not see us asleep and would skip over our house.  The kids set out 2 cookies and milk for Santa and oatmeal for the reindeer.  In the morning, a cookie and a half were eaten, the oatmeal was left by our chimney and was spilled a little by Santa.  Colson thought that was amazing.  This is the first year that Colson left out a picture of a nativity scene for Santa also.  Brooklyn has done this since she was 4 and it is amazing to see how they have changed!
