Colson-2 years old
I cannot believe that my baby is 2! I am starting to figure out that he will still be my baby even when he is 22! I cannot put into words how blessed we feel to be your parents Colson. You are truly a sweet natured little man who is full of personality (mostly around our house), loves to cuddle, loves to get his "mo" (eskimo) kisses from all three of us, loves to sit on the potty (but rarely goes!), loves to be outside, loves to sing (even if you can only chime in a word here and there), loves to build with blocks, loves to play with trains and balls, loves to have books read to you, loves to ask about your Poppi every day, loves to build tents in the livingroom, and loves to hug your big sister! WE ARE SO BLESSED!
The 4th of July 2010
Well I guess I should begin with the 3rd of July really! Because the 4th was on a Sunday, they had the parade for the 4th in The Woodlands on Saturday the 3rd! It was so fun! We had never been and were worried about the heat but the kids loved it. The heat was not too bad because it was earlier...I guess it was hot but it could have been much worse. The parade is full of local businesses, churches, nonprofit organizations, and military organizations with their floats and the kids LOVED the balloon man! They got to watch him make Colson a dog and Brooklyn a flower! We got to see a family of kids that I have taught in the past and that was fun to get a little special wave from them!
All ready for the fun to start!
He was so proud of his balloon dog!
Typical "girly" Brooklyn
We then celebrated Mimi's birthday with the Lewis clan when Poppi got off of work! We went to Cheddars to eat and my kids love it there! Their favorite thing to eat is their broccoli! Love it! Mimi got a Kohl's gift card from us because she is getting so skinny she needs new clothes! We had a great time at dinner and both kids were so good!
First grandchild of the family
Colson looks crazy here..HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIMI!
Some people think Colson looks like Poppi!
On the 4th of July we went to church and had a great day there! We have so much to be thankful for and are so blessed to live in the country we live in. It was very appropriate to give thanks and glory to God on such a patriotic day! We then went to the Kuhn's house and our friends the Heemers joined us there! The kids had a blast outside on the waterslide and the fireworks were enjoyed by all this year. This was the first year both of our kids were interested in them! Thank you for having us over Kuhn family and we had a great time with the Heemers! Can't wait until we get together again in September!!!
Hugs before church! All dressed in red, white, and blue

Colson's First Movie--Toy Story 3
Colson experienced his very first movie today! I was very nervous and skeptical as to how he would be. I was not worried about Brooklyn at this age but he is an active little boy! We decided to lay them down early for a nap so we could just go to our little movie theater right near our house. This way if he misbehaved, it wouldn't be far from home. He did not sleep for the first time EVER during his nap time so I was so upset because I wanted him to be rested and not moody for the movies. BUT he did well. He had some times that he was walking between us and Mimi but he sat and watched it for the majority of the time! Go Colson!! Brooklyn loved the movie and has said, "To infinity and beyond!" a zillion times this evening!
The kids with Mimi
My big boy!
He was so amazed with this big place...just glad he didn't try to explore it too much!
The Little Gym
The kids started at the Little Gym last week and have enjoyed it so much! It is a gymnastics class built on a curriculum. The class for Colson is taught by Mrs. Allison and is a Mom and Tot class. They are very accommodating to the kids going to explore and not so hard on them having to do everything at the same time...this is very good for Colson. He is not a rule follower all the time that is for sure! He loves it!!! Brooklyn has a very large class right after Colson's class that is taught by three teachers. They do a fun warm up and then start with the skills for the week. She is on the beam, bars, floor and all sorts of fun things. Last week's theme was a cowboy theme and everything they did revolved around that. This week it was 3 Cheers for the Little Gym and they cheered on their friends during the day! Here are some pics of my not so shy kids and how they are doing in gymnastics!
Ready for her first class in her new leotard
Hangin' tough!
Father's Day 2010!
We had a great Father's Day! Curt and I are both so lucky to be close to our fathers and are so thankful for the work ethic and strength that they taught us! The Alfords were out of town so we haven't celebrated with them yet! We celebrated with the Lewis clan on Tuesday so that Dad could be off of work! We went to the Cheesecake Factory and had a great time....the kids were so good! The day before Father's Day I had Brooklyn fill out the cards for Pop, Poppi, and Daddy. She did a great job...just had to be coached on how to spell everything! I told her to hide the card in her room so that it would be a surprise to Daddy when we gave him his gift...she was so excited and went to hide it. A few hours later, she went to Curt and said, "Daddy, want a surprise?" I had no idea what she was talking about...duh! She went and proudly brought out the card she had hidden the day before we were going to give it to him...it was SO FUNNY! She was so proud of herself! We went to lunch with the Hathorn family after church and enjoyed our day together. It was nice and relaxing!!! It was also so special because we welcomed Sawyer James Kuhn to the Kuhn/Alford clan on the Friday before Father's Day. He is so precious...there will be pictures to come!
Brooklyn was so proud of herself
She did a great job! Kiki would be proud!!! (She's a Kindergarten teacher and loves the nice handwriting!)
We got Daddy a case to the new phone that we also got him! The Sprint 4G EVO..we are waiting for it!
We let Daddy sleep in and then they wanted to cuddle a while!
Daddy's Little Girl!
