March 2016

The start of Spring season is around the corner this month and the weather will be getting warmer and drier!  We started off the month celebrating Jackie's 21st birthday watching The Snow Queen Play in town.  The kids loved the small venue and the fact that different characters were played by the same person in different costumes.  It was a great experience!

They got to meet the actors and get autographs which  was so exciting!
The first weekend of Spring Break, we went camping with the Moffitt family in their new camper.  It was a blast but SO VERY WET!  A huge storm had come in and left so much water surrounding our area and camper.  The kids had a blast riding their bikes, playing on the play structures, and running around!

We came back on Sunday and visited the Poodle Rescue of Houston on Monday!  YES, you heard me right.  We are thinking about getting a dog!  Brooklyn has been begging for a dog for about two years.  She has started bringing home books about picking dogs for our home, dog breeds, and finding the perfect breed.  We have agreed to go look.  I know we will find a sweet dog that will fit in with our family!  We met several different poodles and poodle mixes.  We didn't find a match for us and then I asked about Katrina that I had seen on the facebook page for PRH.  We met Katrina and I fell in love.  She is quite shy and tentative to show us her personality, but I know she will warm up.  She is precious and perfect for our family.

Brooklyn is the perfect little momma!

This is one of her online pictures

She was heartworm positive and they treated her at the rescue.

We had to keep her there for her quiet time after her treatment and spaying.  We won't get her until mid April most likely!

We love to visit!
The rescue made quite an impact on us as a family.  We are happy to donate and help them in the future with anything they will need!
We have renamed her Cassie Mae!!!  No more Katrina...Cassie it is!
A few other Spring Break shenanigans!
Colson will have to have his tonsils out in July....they are huge and we are tired of strep!

New veggies for our garden!

Planting our veggies!!

Colson oh Colson!

Kline and Karianne came to spend the night and they had a blast!!
Easter weekend was also in March this year!
We had fun dying eggs with the Pierrel family and celebrated with the Lewis grandparents and the whole Alford clan at their house!

She loved the artistry of dying eggs!

The boys didn't last long until they were playing old school Nintendo!

Egg hunt and confetti egg fight is always a favorite of the kids!!!

February 2016

Last year I was quite spoiled being asked to chaperone for Brooklyn's 3rd grade field trip.  When they asked for volunteers this year, I couldn't wait to go and help out again.  I loved getting to know her teacher, Mrs. Foster, better, learning all about the Wunderlich Farms, and meeting some of her friends that she has made in her class this year.  She is in a self-contained classroom this year, so this group of kids spend a lot of time together in the same room all day long.  It was a great day!!!

Sweet Ms. Lisa next door has been coming over to teach Brooklyn how to use her sewing machine every weekend for a while and boy did they make a beautiful bag together!

Colson and I got to enjoy the Snyder Mother/Son Dance tonight!  It was STAR WARS theme so you know Colson was thrilled to be there!  He didn't want to dress up but he wore a shirt and I wore Star Wars colors!  He picked our dinner destination before as Golden Bowl Chinese, and I loved every second of my time with this sweet boy!!!

Date Night for Mommy and Daddy for Valentine's Day!  We enjoyed our Morton's Steak House dinner with friends!

I am so blessed at Snyder to work with some truly amazing people!  My partners are the best, my team is seamless (pretty much) and I love my administrators!

Erika is having a baby, so we got to celebrate with her!!!

Happy 40th Birthday Delyssa and Justin!!
I got a weekend away the last weekend of the month to enjoy time with Laurie, Meagan, and JaNan!  We all met in Fredericksburg and enjoyed our time eating, drinking, shopping, talking and just having fun the entire weekend!  I love my college girls and am so glad we all found a weekend to be together with no kids or hubbies!
We stopped in Round Top on the way to Fredricksburg and enjoyed a fantastic lunch!

And PIE!
