Twas the Night Before School

We had a fabulous summer and it has been so sad to see it go!  We are back into the swing of things.  We spent the night before school started laying out clothes, packing lunches, and getting backpacks and cameras ready to go!  The kids made their request for their first day of school meal...shish-ka-bobs, grilled corn on the cob, and Italian sausage!  They love picking out their special meal the first day of school.  They have started thinking about next year already!  I spent time getting dinner for first day of school prepared and making gifts for teachers!  The first day of school is a great day to shower the teacher with gifts!
..........and we're off!

Meet the Teacher 2012

Brooklyn started first grade this year and Colson is in the PK1 class at Primrose.  Curt had the chance to take Brooklyn to meet her teacher the Friday before school started.  Her teacher is Ms. Trevino.  She is very excited because she taught Kinder last year so Brooklyn knows her.  She has two kids in her class from last year so I am sure she will meet other great friends!  I was so sad to miss it but I had my Meet the Teacher at the exact same time!

Bowling buddies!

My dad joined a bowling league since his retirement about a year and a half ago!  He loves it and it has been such a great time to get to know people and have something for him!  He has taken Colson to play twice and Brooklyn once this summer and they love going with him!

Vacation Bible School 2012

The kids and I had a great time at The Wildwood Forest Vacation Bible School that our church did this year!  It was so great to discover how uncontainable, undescribable, unimaginable, undefeatable, and undeniable our God is!  It was so great to welcome about 100 kids each day to have fun in the Glow Rock HideAway science lab, learn the story through theater, sing and dance, play games, make crafts, and even have a yummy snack.  The kids got to have a  showcase day where they got to perform some they had learned for the parents!  What a great week!

Awesome crafts!!!

Party Time!!!!

We had a great time celebrating the kids' birthdays at Woodlands Gymnastics Academy!  We are truly blessed to have awesome friends in our lives that love our kids and came out to to celebrate with us!  We spent the first part of the party playing on all of the big equipment!  There was tons to do and even more smiles to go with the fun!  Our wonderful friend Julie made the kids' cake!  It was awesome!  She made a 3 tiered sock monkey cake with the kids names on it!  It was gorgeous and just perfect!  The pictures speak for themselves!  Superheroes, school books, crafts, shoes, boxer briefs, and legos were some of the awesome gifts!  The kids loved it all!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BROOKLYN AND COLSON

I cannot believe that our babies are now 6 and 4!  It just sounds so grown up to me!  It is amazing to see the independence that they both have developed over the last year.  Brooklyn adjusting to kindergarten in a big school really matured her even further.  She is not shy about meeting new people and making new friends which is so important to both of us.  We were both incredibly shy children so we want our children to have a healthy fear of people they don't know but not be painfully shy!  Colson's speech is so clear now, he picks out his own clothes and dresses himself, and can never go to sleep with any toys on his floor!  I know this is not a big deal to some, but it is amazing that now I can ask the kids to go take a shower and they do it on their own!  We have really been working on washing their hair and training them to clean their own bodies and they have go it!  HALLELUJAH!!!
