AWANA Closing Ceremony 2012

Another AWANA year has ended.  I am so proud of Brooklyn and Colson and all of their hard work that they did this year hiding God's Word in their hearts.  Colson finished his first Cubbie book and Brooklyn finished her first Spark book and review.  Colson was a pro at memorizing his scriptures this year.  I was excited to see his excitement each week...we worked at night before bed or on the way to church and he got the verse no matter what!  Brooklyn used the CD that LoLo gave her to learn all of her verses to song.  She finished her book and did the book review all before Christmas....that is so awesome!  Curt and I just pray that our kids learn to love God with all of their heart, soul, and mind.

Brooklyn's First Science Fair Project

Brooklyn was given guidelines for her very first science fair project.  They set forth specific rules and directions for the project.  Each grade had different projects.  Kindergarten was assigned a sorting activity where they had to sort a minimum of 30 items in an egg carton based on a chosen characteristic and it was optional to write sentences about how your sorted the items you chose!  They really encouraged parents to back off and let the kids do it themselves!  I did just that!  Brooklyn chose to do animal stickers and sort into colorful and non-colorful animals.  She wrote sentences that she came up with and I was really proud of her.  Curt and my parents were able to go look at the projects and Brooklyn got to see that they came!  She was very excited!

Mother's Day 2012

We had a fantastic Mother's Day this year!  We spent time with the Alford clan and were not able to get together with the Lewis family.  We were sad because my mom got really sick and was not able to celebrate with us at all.  :(  We had a fun time making the gifts for my mom and mother in law.  We took pictures with the kids holding letters and framed them!  They are perfect!  Curt surprised me with some cute pajamas that he went and picked out by himself!  For those of you who know him, this does not happen ever!  I am so blessed to have had the best example of a mom!  I truly hope to be half the mom that I had to my beautiful kids!

Our gift!!!
