Former Students

There are several former students that I still keep in touch with.  I love that we still have contact and I know what successes have followed after they left elementary school.  For several years, I was a self-contained fifth grade teacher.  I kept the same kids all day and developed such a strong and close connection with my students those years.  Two of the girls asked if they could come by to visit this summer.  At the last second, Miranda was not able to come but Faustine came!  We had a great time catching up, talking, and playing with the kids.  She enjoyed her very first bowl of chili for supper that night and then I took her home!  Such a fun time!  Faustine is one amazing young lady who will grow up to be such a success!!!  Thank you for coming and hanging out with us!!!

Playing with friends

We have had a great time playing with friends this summer!  Meeting at the children's museum, splashtown, or playdates have been so fun!  These are the fun times that I will miss when we return to school in August.  This summer I have really enjoyed being home and getting to "play" with the kids...not worrying about fitting it all into a short time on each weekend!
Colson riding with Avery!

Mrs. Judi came to read to us and play!
Children's Museum time!

Happy Birthday America!!! Red, White, and Blue Day!!

We had a pretty relaxed 4th of July this year!  It was very nice just to enjoy the company of friends and family!  We went over to the Kuhn's house for food and water fun!!  The kids loved the time outside and the adults went between the outside and inside because of the heat!  No fireworks this year because of the ban placed on the area due to little to no rain!  It was an early night home which was good for the kids after time in the sun!  Happy Birthday America!

Happy Birthday Brooklyn!

It is birthday time in the Alford house once again and I am so amazed that our beautiful little girl is a big 5 year old now!  She is so excited about kindergarten and her independence this past year has grown tremendously!  She is such a lover of being a nurturer to everyone and taking care of her friends.  We know that she will do extremely well in school and hope that her love for learning continues to flourish!   Brooklyn loves to DO CRAFTS, draw, color, play on pbs.org on the computer, swim in the pool, teach Colson how to color, eat taquitos, go to church, wear jewelry, and watch movies!  On July 10, 2006 at 12:34 our lives were completely changed for the better...we cannot imagine life without our babies!
