Fun with Friends

We have had several fun nights with the Kuhn family recently!  At the end of April, we had a great cookout and sprinkler kind of Saturday night!  We started off making homemade pizzas with the kids and then they got to play in the sprinkler!  They had a great time running around, eating pizza, and LOVED it when Rick brought out 2 desserts!  We love our cookout times!!!

AWANA Closing Ceremony

We are so pleased to say that Brooklyn and Colson finished their second and first year of the AWANA program at church!  It is a fabulous program that teaches the kids from a young age how incredible God's love for them is and teaches them Bible verses.  They learn how important it is to hide God's Word in their heart.  Colson finished his first year of Puggles with his fabulous teachers James and Cindy Hathorn and he loved every minute of it!  He is so excited to move on to Cubbies next year!  It will be a challenge to get him to memorize Scripture, but we will see!  Brooklyn finished her second year of Cubbies with Mrs. April, Mrs. Chelsea, and Ms. Kelly and her Jumper book!   She will move on to Sparks next year and feels so big!
All of the awards being received
Brooklyn was first to get her award and then nearly walked off the stage!

Loved this one of Everett and Ricky comparing awards.

We had a big group this year!

Relay for Life 2011

I know I am very late on many posts, so it is catch up time!  I have good reason that I will share in a later post!  In April, we joined Jill's teacher friends in walking in the Relay for Life.  It is truly an emotional night filled with laughter, tears, and amazement at the number of survivors and the reminder of how good God truly is.  Having so many family members affected with cancer and still battling, it was truly an honor to raise money for the American Cancer Society.  I got to take Brooklyn this year!  She understood what we were walking for and why we were there...of course, the snow cones proved to be her love!  She and Ricky had a great time walking together, but poor Everett had an eye injury and was having a very painful night.  Thank you Jill for asking us to join you every year...it is an honor!

Mother's Day 2011

Another Mother's Day!!  Brooklyn had told her class on Friday that what she wanted to throw mommmy a Mother's Day party!  She started decorating our house with mommy pictures!  So cute!  We had a fun celebration the day before Mother's Day with the Lewis family at a very yummy Italian restaurant called Raul's...you have to check it out!  On Mother's Day, Curt had a beautiful purple orchid and card waiting in Brooklyn's room for me when I went to wake her up!  A very big surprise...wasn't expecting anything because we just got our new floors!  We had a great day at church and then came home for my mommy time at the gym!  Love it!  I am a sucker for my gym time!  We went that evening to eat with the Alford clan at Juan and Lefty's that just opened near our house.  It was better food this time than the first time we ate there!  Good family, good fun!!!

Home Improvement 2011

We have been considering, researching, and deciding what floors to replace our carpet and vinyl with for about a year!  We finally bit the bullet and bought the floors!  I am so excited because they are so beautiful!  We had tons of help from friends!  Thank you so much...we couldn't have done it without you!  You also will not believe it...I did it too!  It was so hard...my body just ached the next day!  Curt was amazing and worked so hard.  Here are some before, during, and after pictures!  We still have baseboards to paint, replace, and nail on!
