August 2017

  August was a very interesting month in 2017.  All started out as normal....then Harvey hit.  A once in a lifetime hurricane that was devastating to our city, friends and family.

Karianne was baptized and we got to be there to see it!

The kids always spend the week we go back to work with my parents.  They did a staycation this year with Astros games, making a cross out of Granny's jewelry, Urban Air and Little Beakers!

First came my Meet The Teacher for year 16!  I had sweet Peyton in my class....this is Colson's girlfriend from kindergarten!  I was so excited she was with me!

 The girls got their schedules and got to go walk their schedules to figure out where everything is in their new school, Schindewold Intermediate.  Brooklyn and Karianne finally have 1 class together!  They never have!!!

And then Harvey hit.....I had been in school for 1 week and the kids had been in school for 3 days.  We were out of school for 1 week and 1 day and the kids and Curt were out for an extra few days because of the devastation in their districts.  Julie and Ronnie flooded but were safe.  Cynthia moved in with us for 4 months and they stayed in a hotel for a few days and then wanted back in their house.

Made a big pot of chili not knowing that we were going to be out of school for so long!

Kids played video games

We played board games

The news was 24 hours a day

Brooklyn learned how to braid

Then the clean up started around the entire city

Kids played with the Pegueros

And even went to a few hours of karate

This time all the way into the clubhouse

And tennis courts

Colson's school flooded and he did not return to Lemm the entire year.
