February 2014

We took part in the AWANA Grand Prix this year!  The kids had a blast designing their car and painting it just right.  Curt really enjoyed engineering and helping Colson make his perfect for him!  Brooklyn wanted to do hers all by herself and loved the creative painting of it!  The kids participated in 4 heats and placed 2nd or 3rd each of the times that they raced.  I must say, I was so proud of the behavior of our kids.  They ate their popcorn, picked up their little mess they made, listened for their name to be called and were respectful of others the whole time.  Definitely a proud parent night for us!

We have just felt complete with our baby John in our lives!  We just love this little boy and all of the joy he brings us!  Kristin had some training that she needed to do and needed help with the baby!  Yay!  We got to help!  I also got to help her with some of my STAAR knowledge.  Love this little guy!

Superbowl Party was at our house this year!  We had the Pierrels, Moffitts, and Salazars over for some great food, great friends, and a blow-out game.  The game was actually pretty boring because the Seattle Seahawks blew away the Denver Broncos.  The half time performace was very enjoyable.  We had a great time to end the football season and hoping for a better Texan season next year!

SOCCER SEASON HAS STARTED AGAIN!  I am telling you....we LOVE soccer and adore watching our little guy play in his games.  His skills are getting so much better and he has even scored a goal already this season (the one week I was not there)!  His coach is seeing his growth and bragging on him every week.  We are working on his speed and his aggression.  Colson is such a laidback kid that he does not have a competitive or aggressive bone in his body!  We need a little more on the field but he is getting there!  We are blessed to be on a FANTASTIC team with WONDERFUL coaches, kids and parents.  It is the same Cheetah team as the fall but we do have two new additions to the team!  We hope that this team of kids can stay together and play for many more seasons together...at least the boys....the girls have to leave us next season.

A year ago, we attended our first event at our now church called the Barn Dance.  We didn't know anyone, went and had fun.  This year, we know several more people, danced, took fun pictures, ate good fair food, and got to visit with some friends.  The mechanical bull was certainly a favorite of the kids for sure!
