Our wonderful family friends the Moffitts invited us to go camping with them on the Guadalupe River. They have a 35 ft camper that we are able to go stay in with them when we travel with them. It was AMAZING! The kids had a blast playing, swimming, kayaking, and eating! We arrived on Wednesday early evening and set up camp while the kids played in the river. Thursday we spent the day at Schlitterbaun which was the kids and Curt's first experience. We had a blast! The kids loved the tube ride called The Falls. It is a huge park and we did 2 out of the 3 parts of it. That evening we went to visit our friends the Randolphs who just moved to that area about 20 minutes from where we were staying. We loved our dinner with them and the kids enjoyed playing with their friends! Friday was my personal favorite day...Tracy and I rode single kayaks, and the guys took both kids on double kayaks and we kayaked the river. It was peaceful, low water levels, full of laughs, and a time to make great memories! Colson was proud that he peed in the river and Brooklyn gave the river a new name...the Guada"poop"e River! That is right...she pooped on the side of the river. After we ended our trip about 4 hours later, we went back to the camper and let the kids relax and be inside out of the sun for a while before going into Gruene for dinner at the famous Gristmill. We ate outside and it was HOT! Very good food but SO HOT!
Saturday was spent going to Canyon Lake and playing, swimming, and rock jumping. We also visited a spring area near our campsite that we ended up spending about 4 hours in. We all loved watching all of the tubers go down one of the falls and spill out of their tubes and the kids loved shooting water guns at them as they went by! The passer-bys thought it was hilarious!
