All About the Alfords

Our July kicked off with our neighbor that we have watched grow up for 12 years get married. It has been so fun to watch these girls grow up on Nickwill Way and it was awesome to see Chelsea get married!

Unfortunately, Colson did not earn the chance to have a birthday party this year because of behavior at school. 2nd grade was a very hard year for him! Brooklyn got to have her first sleepover and boy did they have a blast. Karianne, Emma, Samantha, Giselle, and Giselle came over to celebrate with her and they were all such sweet girls!

We celebrated the kids' birthdays with the Alfords early because Colson had a tonsilectomy on his exact birthday, July 8. Poor kid was such a trooper!

They always get to celebrate with Uncle Chris! He is 51, Brooklyn 10, and Colson 8!

We got to celebrate with the Perrys and Ardoins!

Brooklyn got to attend a sewing camp this summer in a shop in Old Town Spring. She made a placemat, pillow, and pajamas and learned SO much! I am so proud of her excitement to learn and get better. Sewing is very much a lost art, and we are thrilled that she wants to learn!

We made the big change of year round teams! We are now a part of the Lone Star Swim program and are thrilled to see how Brooklyn progresses under Mark, Jennifer, and Jacob.

Colson got to open his post operation gift before his surgery and before we celebrated his birthday at his choice of restaurants, Panera. He loves his tomato soup and desserts!

We are waiting to go back before his surgery. We are hoping for a lot less strep in this little boy's life and just generally feeling much better!

They even came to sing HAPPY BIRTHDAY to him!

They have never had such a young kid that they were able to put an IV in with no sedative or anything. Everyone was SUPER impressd with Colson!

Brooklyn got to open her presents on her birthday from the Lewis' and us!

Crystal gave us the idea about 7 months ago to paint our cabinets in our kitchen. We were excited about the idea because it would lighten things up and not make everything so brown. It was so much work but we got it done just in time for me to host bunco. We worked from Thursday to Sunday night about 1 am! Crystal, Julie, Cynthia, Curt and I worked so hard and we are thrilled with the outcome!

Another project...stain our brand new fence that was destroyed by the April storm.

And then....my car broke down! We had to get a new vehicle. Sedan it was because the prices of SUVs or mini vans were just too high for a purchase that we were not expecting!
