March 2014

We spent a wonderful start to our Spring Break going to Surfside, Texas with the Alford side of our family.  It started off to be a very cold and rainy weekend and then warmed up a bit.  At least the rain stopped which was good for the kids who wanted to have a sand castle building contest!  They did great with it.  The beach house was large enough for most of us and then the Cariello clan stayed at a house a small walk away.

 Off We go!

We then went to Sea Wolf Park where we got to see a submarine and destroyer that are retired.  The kids really enjoyed the submarine...it was so interesting seeing how the men and ladies lived when they were at sea!

On Sunday, we woke up to a lot of rain!  Luckily Memaw brought crafts and we all brought games!  This is how we passed the time!

Then we made it out for some sunny skies and sandcastle contest!  The kids were excited about this the entire weekend!  Their castle won!  A passerby was the judge and I think he did great judging!

A few March pictures of our cutie patootie nephew Baby John!  He is just so precious!

Our Spring Break was filled with tons of fun!  A lot of it was not caught on camera but our yogurt and ice cream trips were!

Granny had surgery over the break so we spent our Thursday afternoon with her.  We just love Granny and our heart breaks that she has had 4 hospital stays since October.  My parents are continuing to take such great care of her and are always showing her such love.  My parents truly have a heart of gold.

Uncle Ed came down to see Granny also.  We got to spend some time with him, have dinner, enjoy Colson's soccer game, and Colson loved being read to by him.
Thank you for our books Uncle Ed and Aunt Linda!
