Easter 2013

Our Easter Festivities began a week before Easter with the kids having their first Egg Hunt.  Colson participated in 4 Egg hunts and Brooklyn in 3!  That is crazy!  They love every minute of it...our 2 huge bowls of candy are reminders of their fun!  Thank you Mimi and Poppi for taking us to Mrs. Martha's Egg Hunt!

Neighborhood Egg Hunt!

Our bunny had quite great moves!

Brooklyn got out there and danced with her!!!
On Easter Sunday, the kids got up and were thrilled that the Bunny had come our way.  This is the first year that Brooklyn knows about the Bunny and so it was a little different for me.  She was still super excited and was thanking the Bunny like crazy!  Her favorite: her super hero GIRL panties.  His favorite: His super hero pajama shirts!

We got ready for church and headed to the 9:00 service.  We have changed churches after me attending my church for 28 years.  It has been a hard change but am so thankful for Northwest Bible.  We truly feel like God is calling us there and this will be our home for a long time.  We know that our kids will learn the Word of God and we can grow also.  We had several families join us on Sunday and we loved having them with us.  It was an amazing service!  Truly amazing that our kids know the true reason for Easter and what it is all about.  So thankful!

We tried to take a timer picture!
Off to Memaw and Pop's house we headed for our wonderful lunch and awesome egg hunt!  We hid 89 eggs this year and the kids (including our nephew Isa who is 16) loved finding the eggs with money!  Brooklyn was the big winner this year!  We then used up 10 dozen confetti eggs and had a blast doing it!  That has got to be the kids' favorite thing!  My Granny was hilarious....she just sat in the middle of the egg war like nothing was going on!  She is so funny!

HE IS RISEN....HE IS RISEN INDEED!

Bluebonnets 2013

As we do every year, we ventured out into the bluebonnets to take pictures of the kids.  We love doing this every year and often wonder if in any other state you go take pictures in your state flower.  They don't bloom for very long, so we have to pick the perfect weekend!  We go up to Montgomery to find patches and of course try not to trample all over them!  The kids did great this year and really love going out there!

Spring Break 2013

Here I sit on the Friday winding down our Spring break, so thankful!  We have had a WONDERFUL week filled with family and friends!
I am sad that I got no pictures with my Aunt Linda and Uncle Ed but they came in town to visit!  It was such a wonderful visit...Curt and I went out for our 10 year anniversary and they got the kids to themselves.  It was a good time of bonding for them and really getting to know them without mom and dad around!
10 years ago today I married my perfect match.  So in love!
Then we went over to the Heemers to just have some fun play time and time to play!  The kids always have an awesome time when we are able to get together!  Cannot believe we have been friends for 10 years!

On Sunday night, we had the Alford family over to eat and of course I was so busy getting everything ready and cleaned up that I didn't get pictures!  We had Pit Master's BBQ...love us some pulled pork!

Brooklyn had her surgery on her ear on Monday March 11th.  She has a 30 % hole in her left ear which has caused a hearing loss in her left ear.  We would have never known that she wasn't hearing but she failed her hearing test at school.  I am so thankful for those hearing tests!  They cut behind her ear and took out tissue to patch the backside of the eardrum.  She was so nervous.  She cried in bed the night before, very nervous. She was such a trooper and never has complained since the surgery.  It was delayed a few hours but we were so impressed with how all of the doctors and nurses have taken care of her during and after the surgery.
Ear before the surgery!

Mimi and Poppi brought a pot of flowers for Brooklyn!

My little gardener!

We gave Brooklyn her Lego Friends set Olivia's House to do after surgery!

This gave her something to do to lay low  while we had our company during the week.

Her little hospital puppy!

Mimi, Poppi, Memaw, Aunt Cynthia, and Aunt Crystal were all there for her!

Daddy with her bubble gum mask on!

Still asleep!!!  Very groggy!

She woke up about half way home!
When we got home our friends the Luleys came to visit for the week!  We had such a great time with Tatum and Hallie.  It means the world to us that we are still close to the Pierrels and Luleys!  College roommates are the best in the world!  Love that our kids are so close and hope that they continue their friendships for as long as we have!
Colson and Tatum

A royal tea party!

Good morning!
Julie brought Reese and Ethan to play!  We met Julie in the dorm rooms and it has been a long time since Meagan and Julie have been able to see each other!  It was a fun reunion 14 years later!

Brooklyn laid low while the others played.

Just like old times minus the 6 kids!

Trampoline races!

Acorn collecting was a hit!

Brooklyn wore her hat to protect her incision!
Wednesday we ventured out to the rodeo for a day of fun with the Pierrels and Luleys!  The kids had a great time!
