October 2014

One thing that is such a blessing is how active our kids are.  They are only in one physical activity or sport each but they truly love coming home each Saturday after a swim meet or soccer and continuing to be active.  Colson and Brooklyn have been begging for bike rides after each game and every weekend.  That is what we have been doing because we don't want them to be couch kids or video game kids.  We want them to get out and make their own entertainment and enjoy being kids while they are young!

Colson has had such a great season thus far with some amazing team play even on a larger field and playing with goalies!  So far has had 2 goals this season!

Brooklyn's first year round swim meet!  She tried her first 50 which was hard but placed and bettered her time in every other stroke!

Out for our weekly bike ride!
As we do every October, we got to spend some time with the Heemer family!  We went to a place called Blessington Farms in Fulshear, TX which was a ton of fun.  The cost was just right and they had some really fun things for the kids to do!  We love being able to get together with them each year and love trying out new adventures with our buds!  The kids get along so well...we are truly blessed with great friends!

Curt and I were invited to run in our very first Mud Run called the Mighty Mud Run!  His team at school put together a team and decided to do it!  It was a blast.....lost my sunglasses but was so impressed with what I was able to do as far as the obstacles and really kept up with running well too.  The mud was VERY hard to run through but honestly was a total joy to attempt!  Thanks April and Laurie for a fun fun fun time!

Kellie Vanderslice is a friend that I grew up with at Timber Lakes who was diagnosed with cancer a little over a year ago.  Her prognosis is not good and she wanted to come down here to visit one more time.  We got together at our old pastor's house and got to visit with old friends...so awesome!

Girls' Night Out with Madeline and Laurie was next on our list of things to do that Saturday!  We had a great time with them going to Olive Garden and to get Fro Yo!  The girls just adore each other even though they are 5 years apart!  Brooklyn thinks Madeline is a doll and Madeline looks up to Brooklyn so much!  Laurie is such a dear dear friend.  When you live with someone, it is a bond that cannot be taken away or lessened!  We truly are forever friends and I feel blessed to be able to raise our kids together!

We had our Fall Girl Scout Outing at 7 Acre Woods!  I will admit that I was not looking forward to driving out there on a Sunday afternoon, but it was tons of fun!  The girls all had a really great time and were so well behaved!  Momma even got a little zip line action in herself!  They loved the zip line, the pogo sticks, swinging, the putt putt golf, and Brooklyn even sort of liked the petting zoo....(she HATES goats!)  Tons of fun with the 13680 girls!

We had the chance to go to a Kingwood Park Football game to watch our senior O Line nephew play!  We are so proud of Isa.  I can not even believe that he was 5 when I first met him and now he is finishing his last year of high school.  He is a great football player.  We love going to watch him and of course the kids love being spoiled by Aunt Crystal and Uncle Philip.  They have such a good time at the games!

We had a big HALLOWEEN this year!  We dressed along with the kids.  Uncle Philip was having a big Halloween party for his birthday which is the 31st also!  Curt and I decided to go as a cop and a donut!  It was so fun!  Curt even got into making his own shirt per Colson's idea!  He was so proud of himself.  Colson was Willie Robertson from Duck Dynasty and Brooklyn was a flapper from the 20s!  They were so cute.  We had a great time trick or treating with baby John...our little sock monkey.  Brooklyn wore heels and quickly learned why heels are no fun to walk around the neighborhood in!  Such a fun night.  I am so proud of our kids...they are so good and truly love every holiday!

Such a fun night with family!!!!

September 2014

September is always such a busy month getting back into our routine for the school year!  Now that we are adding different and new extra curricular activities to our schedule each year, it is always a challenge to figure out who is going to take which kid where and how we will divide and conquer it all at home, at school, and outside of home!  Colson is continuing to play soccer this season with the awesome and amazing Cheetahs and Curt has stepped up as one of the assistant coaches.  Brooklyn is continuing with Girls Scouts in Troop 13680 and is excited to start making the troop their own this year as second year Brownies.  She is also continuing her love of swimming through the Spring Swim Team which is a year round league.  They are going to be practicing four days a week at Spring High School under their High School Coach Michael Hernandez whom also runs this year round league.  She will only be attending 2 days a week because of all of the other obligations we have going.  Soccer 2 nights a week, swim 2 nights a week, Girl scouts 1 night a week, and keeping up with serious homework this year is a challenge!

Mommy and Daddy enjoyed a few nights out with friends at Lynne's wedding and out for a surprise party for Crystal!!!

My second student teacher that I ever had is now a married woman!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUNT CRYSTAL!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY ISA!  We cannot believe that Isa is 18 years old already!!!

We got to spend time with Baby John this month also!  He spent the night with Mimi and Poppi and so we went to spoil and visit.  He loves us so much...but not as much as we love him!

Colson has a little close friend at school that is a girl!  She is precious Peyton!  She had her acting debut and invited Colson to go watch her.  She was a total doll and did great in her parts in the play while both acting and singing.  Colson calls her his girlfriend....oh brother....here it goes!
