Alford 50th Anniversary!

I am so blessed to have married into a family that is truly wonderful!  My mother and father-in-law have been married for 50 years and are such an example of love, dedication, a love for God, and the importance of family in today's world!  For their 50th, they wanted a party.  Cynthia and Crystal worked for months on this party and it was wonderful!  Julie and Ronnie renewed their vows to display their love for each other.  There was a good crowd of people there from all different points and areas of their lives together!  The food was catered by Italiano's, and the cake was made by Grimes.  It was truly a wonderful day!

Brooklyn Bridged from Daisies to Brownies!

We have been so happy with Girl Scouts for Brooklyn!  She loves Daisies and is making some really sweet friends in the troop!  We have been busy with field trips, meetings, and the last big event was the Bridging from Daisies to Brownies!  Brooklyn is now a Brownie!

Colson Graduated Pre-K!

We have been pretty happy with the school that we chose for Colson this year!  We loved Mrs. Rains and Mrs. Sorcic, his original teachers, but some changes were made and he had a few different teachers in the end.  It was amazing to see the growth in Colson!  He went from barely writing his name, to writing it with no problem and even writing his last name.  He went from not recognizing numbers, to recognizing them up to 10 and being able to write them very well.  He went from not reading, to reading CVC words and a few other sight words.  He went from not knowing what addition means, to adding any numbers you give him!  I definitely think that Math is his strength.  He has a good understanding of numbers that are larger or smaller than others and just a solid number sense!  He was the Super Star Student of the class.  All of his teachers were devastated when they found out that he was not going to continue in the summer.  That was such a compliment to me!  Off to Kindergarten he goes!  We are so proud of you Mr. C!

1st Grade Music Program

Brooklyn came home one day and told me she tried out for a part in the 1st grade music program and got it! She told me that she wanted to surprise us, so she didn't want to tell us she was trying out!  The 1st grade does a program for the Volunteer Tea that is done at the end of the year every year.  It was all about Spring Showers and Rain!  Curt and I both took off the day so we could go see her say her part with Khalil and I am so glad we did!  Afterwards, we took her to her check up for her ears after her surgery.  Her hearing was tested and it is not all 100% restored.  We are VERY bummed about this but knew that this was a possibility even though the success rate is high!  As she is testing right now, she will never pass a hearing test in school but it is better than it was before the surgery.  We return in August to check again, but it is not likely that the hearing will improve.  :(

Brooklyn's buddy Giselle is right below her in the pink!

So proud of our little girl!
