Christmas Morning 2012

There is something so unexplainable about waking up on Christmas morning with young children!  It truly is the most magical moment of the year for me having children.  The true amazement in their eyes is beyond words.  It was wonderful!
The kids put out cookies for Santa and Colson got to make our reindeer oatmeal this year!  Brooklyn had her traditional nativity scene out for Santa to see that she draws each year.  She asked before she went to bed if she could leave Santa $10...I told her that I was sure that he would not accept it because he truly does things for the simple fact of seeing kids smiling faces.  She was ok with that but was sad to not leave anything for him.
Brooklyn woke up full of energy and excitement...we had to wake up Colson and he truly had to take a minute to wake up and embrace the moment!  This is so telling of how they each wake up every morning! Brooklyn was so excited to see that Santa answered her questions in her letter!!!

Christmas 2012

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a goodnight!
We had a fantastic Christmas with celebrations at the Alford home and at the Lewis home with the Bridger side of the family!
Christmas Eve was spent with the Alford family!  It is always wonderful to have all 13 of us together and just enjoy the moment and magic of the kids opening their presents!  One thing that is so special with the Alford family is that there is always one family member that Memaw chooses to go on the Scavenger Hunt for a special gift.  This year it was Isa!  He had been mentioning since Thanksgiving that he hadn't been chosen in years and how badly he wanted it!  Memaw made the clues very hard for him!  So hard that Brooklyn had to help him with some of the clues and lead him in the right direction...lol!  Since he is a licensed driver now, he got floor mats for his car!  He was pretty excited!  It is so nice catering dinner so that we don't have to worry about cooking or any heavy clean up....we just sit back and enjoy each other!  I am so blessed with WONDERFUL in-laws....my mother and father in-law are truly the best and my sis and bro in-laws truly love our kids as they are their own!

It is always great to have all of our family from Memphis and Jackson in town to celebrate with us!  It makes for late nights playing games, great food, great drinks, great gifts, and a new tradition...great craft time!  We love having Malorie, Neil and Madison stay at our house...the kids love giving up their beds (I know that soon will end)!  We love having time to just enjoy relaxing, listening to Neil talk about the Giants, Uncle Frank talk about the Grizzlies, and us talk about our Texans!  I decided that we needed to take a craft idea off of pinterest and make a craft and that is just what we did on the 23rd!  We made ornament wreaths and they turned out quite nice!!!
