This year we decided to buy smaller pumpkins so that the kids could handle them easier. They loved them but boy were they hard to cut! It was a good thing they requested simple designs in them because I don't know that we could have done anything very intricate! They both insisted on cleaning them out themselves which was fun and messy. I got a great recipe for pumpkin seeds and they were wonderful...tasted like popcorn!

Emerson's First Birthday Party
It was so fun to have a Halloween themed first birthday party for Emerson! The house was all decked out and so were all of the kids there celebrating. It was a relaxing night of cupcakes, kids playing in the back yard and celebrating the life of Emerson!
We got some pretty cute pics!

Storybook Parade at Lemm Elementary 2012
It was the first year for Lemm to have a storybook parade! It was so great! They encouraged the kids to use things around their house, don't go buy anything, choose a character that was a character in a book first...not a movie, and to bring their book to show their character off! We went through our dress up bin and gathered all of the goods to make our very own Pinkalicious! She looked so cute! I think there were several other Pinkalicious kids but Brooklyn was definitely the cutest of the cute!
Thank you Mimi, Poppi, and Daddy for going to see her in the parade!

ZOO BOO!
For the past few years, we have been going to Dewberry Farms with the Heemer family and decided we were going to try something different. We had mentioned a few new ideas this summer and finally decided to try Zoo Boo at the Houston Zoo. It was so fun! They had booths set up throughout the zoo for the kids to get candy, interact with a pumpkin family puppet show, play carnival type games, and of course get to see all of the animals. The best part was going in their costumes. Our bride and boxer loved it and loved being with Jack and Charlotte! Thank you for a great time!
Brooklyn's First Sleepover!
Brooklyn had been asking for quite a while if she could ask her friend from Girl Scouts, Karianne, to spend the night. So, Brooklyn was thrilled when we had a free night and got to ask! Karianne is super independent and did not skip a beat! She is ready for college! The girls were awesome with including Colson, so he had a blast also! It was a night filled with trampoline jumping, making pizzas, decorating cookies, making up a play and performing it, and giggles and whispers at bedtime!

Run for the Cure 2012
Our family had the honor of being able to attend a walk for our friend Missy. She is fighting stage 4 breast cancer and has been undergoing treatments since April. She is the most courageous and strongest woman. Waibel's Warriors consisted of about 50 members and was a mix of friends, teachers, and neighbors of Missy. It was great walking with the whole family because Missy's 6 year old and 3 year old are friends of our kids. What an inspiring day!
