Brooklyn's best friend Ricky is playing Kball with Orwall this season for the first time! After our bluebonnet outing, we went to watch the famous Ricky play ball! He was so proud to be out there and took every opportunity he could to wave at us! Brooklyn could always spot where Ricky was on the field when we couldn't spot him...all of the boys look alike with the uniforms on!
Fun Day!!! Thank you for the invite!

Kindergarten Round Up
Well...our little girl is officially registered to be a Lemm Lion for next year. We went to the kindergarten round up on Tuesday night and was thrilled to see tons of kids and parents. I felt like a fish out of water because I didn't know anyone there, don't know anything about Klein schools, and was a bit nervous! Brooklyn went with several of the teachers into the library where they told them about school next year, sang songs, read books, and watched a movie. She had a blast and said she can't wait to play with bugs in science (I know Laurie will be proud)! The teachers were telling her that she will have PE at school too and she actually raised her hand and told the teachers that her daddy is a PE teacher. I was very impressed with her raising her hand and adding to the conversation! Go Brooklyn! I would have never done that as a kid....Curt and I were both extremely shy children. Did all of the paper work and we are done!!
Brooklyn has....
LEARNED TO TIE HER SHOES!!!!!!!!!! One of her homework assignments last week was to learn to tie her shoes. We waited until Thursday night to really sit down and teach her. I taught her the "Two bunny ear" method and it seemed to work. The next day Curt taught her the other normal way and she started doing it that way. All this week she has been doing it with the two bunny ears and is SO PROUD of herself. I must say...it is hard to teach them to tie shoes....it is hard to describe how their hands need to move! She is doing it every morning now totally on her own! Last night we went to watch Bronte run in her last district track meet and she kept her shoes untied all the way there so she could show DeeDee and PapaD how she can tie her own shoes...she is ready for kindergarten!
Bluebonnets 2011
This is our family tradition with the Kuhns...we go out to attempt pictures in the bluebonnets. It was fun this year but the whole area seems to not have a great crop of bluebonnets. My Dad went with us on the trip and loved watching the kids take their pictures. It was neat having him there...a great memory!

Rodeo 2011
In Houston, the Livestock Show and Rodeo is a huge city event that lasts for several weeks. People live for rodeo time complete with country music, bull riding, Kid's Country, carnival rides, and tons of "rodeo" food. Everything fried you can imagine. We took my parents again this year and had a great time. Colson was so much easier this year! He could ride a ton of the rides, loved the animals, and showed his fearlessness! Brooklyn's favorite part was riding the roller coaster and she was finally brave and went into the petting zoo. We went to a restaurant around there called Chachos that was really good! The kids were exhausted but of course never fell asleep in the car. Our kids NEVER sleep in the car!
Great day!!!
Great day!!!
Spring Break 2011
The first day of official spring break we had a day with friends! We went to Bouncin' Bears with Cody and Chase Madden and Marshall Pierrel! We had a great time...if you haven't been there, it is a great place to take little ones. We went to have lunch with Marshall and Laurie and off to get Brooklyn's hair cut! She LOVES to get her hair cut and mostly loves Ms. Celinda who cuts it! We came home and the kids took a rest time on the couch and that went very smoothly! It was too late for a nap but they rested well. Time to play with each other and just have fun!
Also, Colson got his first black eye from another little boy in his class. They collided on the playground and Colson got the worst of it. The school nurse called to tell me about it and let me know that she checked it out and all was ok. It looked like a boy accident to me!!!!!
